The true essence of a Science Park highlighted at the 24th IASP World Conference 2007 31 July 2007 - 65 countries were represented by the 785 registered participants at the 24th World Conference of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP), held from 1 to 4 July 2007 in Barcelona. According to Dr Neville Comins, CEO of The Innovation Hub - the only fully accredited Science Park in South Africa - the conference was by far the largest to date.

Science Parks groundswell and the establishment of the IASP Africa Division 12 June 2007 - The groundswell of awareness regarding the important role that science and technology parks play in a city's local economic development was very evident at the COFISA-The Innovation Hub- seminar on 7 and 8 June 2007.
