Situated in the heart of central Sandton on the northern side of Johannesburg, the Sandton Convention Centre's 'state-of-the-art' 12-storey facility has 22 000 m² of meeting, exhibition and special-event space that can accommodate up to 10 000 people. The World Summit on Sustainable Development 2002, that was held at the Centre, hosted 3 135 participants representing governments, industries, academics, and the international media. Hotels selected for the XXV IASP World Conference 2008 are all within walking distance of the Sandton Convention Centre which is linked by skywalk to Sandton City and adjacent to Nelson Mandela Square shopping complexes.
